Ricci first became known and appreciated as a child actor, primarily for her roles as Wednesday Addams as seen on The Addams Family (1991) as well as Addams Family Values (2000) and Kat Harvey as seen in Casper (1995). Ricci was able to begin playing adult roles in The Ice Storm (1997) which was then followed by The Opposite of Sex, in which Ricci was awarded an Golden Globe Award nomination as Best Actress. The success of her work continued through her roles in Sleepy Hollow (1998) and Monster (2003). Ricci was in the roles of Black Snake Moan, Penelope and Speed Racer. She also played alongside Liam Neeson opposite After.Life.
